Nuuk 2035 – Our common future

Nuuk is growing rapidly and Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq wants to ensure that the city develops in a way that benefits all citizens. That's why the municipality is in the process of creating a new strategy that will set the direction for how Nuuk will develop towards 2035.

You are invited to give your input to create a good basis for a new strategy. The ambition is to create a strategy that unites and engages the citizens of Nuuk around a motivating vision and direction for the city.

On this page you can follow the work on the new strategy. You can read about when and how you can get involved in the work. From 7 May to 3 June, you can take part in a survey about what you think can make Nuuk an even better city to live in.

Photo competition

Take part in our photo competition for a chance to win a 1,000 DKK gift card to Nuuk Center.

What is the best thing about Nuuk, and what do we need more of in the future? Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is currently working on a new capital strategy. The theme is "Nuuk 2035 – Our Common Future," and we would love to see what it means to you.

Here’s how to participate:

  • Post a photo on Facebook or Instagram and use #Nuuk2035 when you make your post
  • The photo must be posted on Facebook or Instagram by June 9, 2024
  • You must live in Greenland to participate in the competition
  • The winning photo will be selected and announced in the days following the deadline. The winner will be notified directly as soon as possible before the announcement
  • The winning photo will be used by Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq in connection with the presentation of the final capital strategy for Nuuk 2025 – 2035
